A freelance project for a video/film production company in LA, Draw Pictures. Many of the people they work with are from outside of LA, so they wanted a personalized city guide for visiting clients. They were looking for a rough, punk feel, something zine-like that would still look good when spit out quickly on an office printer. So I tried to incorporate that aesthetic with elements like chunky, bold type and halftone images. The biggest challenge for this project was creating a system for displaying long strings of listings and short blurbs in the most logical way. I tackled this with different thicknesses of vertical rules-- thicker bars for the listings at the top of the page, and hairlines for the write-ups at the bottom.
